MusicMesh is an amazing AJAX powered web application for finding albums, songs, lyrics, info and most importantly YouTube videos pop up and play on the fly.

My cousin tossed me this bookmark a couple of months ago. On the many occasions which I get bored, such as the time of me writing this post, I browse through my “Entertainment” bookmark folder. Checking in on MusicMesh a few months later they have improved the UI and the flash based album explorer makes me feel like a kid in a candy store.

Each album is linked to other relevant music, many by the same artist or band and others by similarly liked albums. The application allows you to explore near limitlessly into new genres and discover new music. Bookmark videos, load album reviews and get relevant Wikipedia articles on the same page as your streaming video. This is why I love AJAX

More of my favorite AJAX powered web applications.

The creation of Parisian electronic masterminds Gaspard Auge and Xavier de Rosnay, Justice first implanted their pogo-inducing sound in last year’s massive remix of Simian’s ‘Never Be Alone’. While Justice’s remixing fingers have also moulded the sounds of stars like NERD, Soulwax and Franz Ferdinand, it’s their critically-lauded new album ‘†’ which is causing the most fan-fervour.

The band’s current single ‘D.A.N.C.E’ – looped around the Jackson 5, chanting-child refrain of “Do the D.A.N.C.E/1 2 3 4 fight/Stick to the B.E.A.T/Get ready to ignite” – sounds like an electro-funk Go! Team shouting orders to the disco infantry.

The ‘D.A.N.C.E’ film clip follows two torsos as they charge in circles through a dark club. As they move, their t-shirts act as projection screens for a myriad of evolving graphic prints and patterns created by the art director of Justice’s label Ed Banger.

This is a really cool trick to find mp3′s direct from your browser.

Skip the viruses, slow downloads, poor quality and hassle of P2P software.

Create a NEW bookmark in your browser, name it whatever you want.

Copy and paste this entire line into the location field of your new bookmark:

In the keyword field type “music“

Now in your browser address bar all you have to do is type “music incubus” or “music Jay Z – Big Pimpin” … any artist or song combination.

Now you can find music in web directory indexes!

MagWerk has virtually published a line of high quality web zines posing as real flip page magazines. Currently featuring a magazine on each of the following: Music, Gaming, Art & Design, Art & Fashion.

These magazines are, in certain sections, very interactive and media rich with things such as sound clips and music while you read, animation, in-page link structures, pagination within pages , interactive graphics on mouse-over and click, live voting polls, embedded videos and who knows what else. Personally, I haven’t even read but a few pages from each magazine, so I assume there are much more surprises in the form of articles, reviews and more.

Enjoy these 4 high quality virtual magazines, we can only hope that all magazine publishers would someday try their hand and something as interactive and media rich as this!
