I have 5 invites to a great new web service called Backupify.

I’ve been using Backupify for awhile to back up ALL my content on Facebook, GMail, Twitter, and WordPress blogs. There are many more social and Google services available, but each one is optional.

Why use Backupify? What’s it do?

If you think you might accidentally delete a photo or email, encounter a fail whale or somehow get hacked – Backupfiy has you covered.

It can even create a nice PDF file containing all your Tweets dating over a year back. Links are clickable as well.

You’re not limited to just text backups though; Backupify stores your Facebook or Picasa photos and Google Docs files.

History of each backup is logged and you can setup a monthly archive delivery.

On to the invites…

I only have 5 invites to Backupify Premium (10gb storage, multiple accounts per service, monthly archive – $39.95 value)

I need all 5 invitees to be 100% sure they will sign up immediately or the upgrade will not go into effect.

If you are very interested in a free Backupify premium account, please leave a short comment below. Make sure to use your correct email address when posting the comment. Thank you!

This is the coolest, useful app I have ever seen. Yes, Epic Win will soon be found all over your Facebook wall and Twitter stream and you will probably enjoy it.

To sum it up quickly, Epic Win is a social “To-Do” list with virtual rewards. Brilliant!

Developed by Rexbox Productions, Epic Win takes elements from popular RPG games such as quests, loot, stats and experience. I don’t even have the app yet and I’m already itching to get rid of the pile of laundry in my bedroom or finally launch my new project.

Users will create their own real world To-Do list within the app. As items are checked off, a virtual character earns rewards and experience and is presented with the opportunity to announce accomplished tasks to friends on social sites.

Epic Win Coming Soon Trailer

I can tell that Rexbox Productions were paying attention to Carnegie Mellon University Professor, Jesse Schell during his gaming talk at DICE 2010.

Designing Outside the Box

The future of gaming is social, rewards, real life! This Epic Win app is going to be a major winner. What do you think?

Microsoft has introduced WebMatrix Beta. It looks to be an overhauled imagining of Frontpage, updated for today’s standards.

Website management is starting to get a bit overwhelming for beginners. There are many different CMS options available and an huge array of plugins for common features and functions.

WebMatrix runs from your Windows desktop. The software allows a user to manage, edit and publish HTML, CSS, JavaScript and other site files. A new “Razor” syntax supposedly makes ASP.NET coding simple.

Apps and open source software like WordPress can be installed and managed using WebMatrix.

WebMatrix seems like it will be a good option for new web developers to learn the ropes and save a lot of time.

I use Google Blog Search a lot to tune into breaking news and articles for various topics. You can subscribe to email alerts and there is even a standard RSS feed for results, BUT the RSS feed for blog search results is very ugly and has a lot of extra non-sense.

Feedity allows you to create an RSS feed from any content on the web.

I’m gonna show you how to create a streamlined and clean RSS feed from blog search results using this tool.

For this example I am going to use the following search:
http://blogsearch.google.com/blogsearch?hl=en&ie=UTF-8&q=domain%2Bname

Let’s create a clean RSS feed…

Paste a URL into Feedity such as the one above with your own search terms.

Tip: Use the "OR" function to include multiple terms such as "domain+name OR domain+names"

Once you plug your Blog Search results URL into Feedity follow these steps.

Click Advanced Refine tab.

Start Block: <p class=g></p> (This is a snippet of code I found that comes before each link result)

End Block: <table border=0 cellpadding=0 cellspacing=0> (A piece of code after each link result)

Click Refine.

Choose a category and click Get Feed!

The results…

Finished result should look something like this RSS feed.

Hope you can find some use for this. If you find a cool use for Feedity I’d love to hear about it.
