I’m back after quite a long hiatus with another edition of one of my favorite types of posts; useful new web tools.
Today’s tool is a special one. Archive.is enables you to capture any webpage by URL or their handy browser bookmarklet.
Archive.is automatically extracts all the files, images and code necessary to render an exact copy of the page as you see it in your browser. You can download a zip package of the copy, save the short link for later reference or share it right away.
It’s like having your own (more reliable) Archive.org Way Back Machine to save websites on demand.
Archive.is also takes a quick image screenshot of the page much faster than a service such as BrowserShots and easier than cropping a screen capture.
