You may have noticed a new feature on Google search results pages that show related content from your social circle.

These additional results show up if you are logged in to GMail or other Google services. You may recognize a link to your friend’s blog post or someone you follow on Twitter.

Here is an example search result from my social circle:

Exploring Your Google Social Circle

Google has provided a dashboard which contains comprehensive details on your entire social circle.

From the same page you can also confirm if your content is appearing within social results.

5 Ways to Get Your Content to Appear

There are a few simple, yet important methods for getting your content to appear on social results. Follow the tips below to boost exposure to your content.

Setup your Google Profile and add links to your websites
This is the most important method for having your content to appear within social circles. Simply edit your profile and add links to your blogs, other social profiles and websites.

Connect with people on Google Buzz
Networking on Buzz will quickly add people to your social circle.

Encourage adding your RSS feed to Google Reader
When your readers add your blog feed to Google’s RSS reader, that content has a chance of appearing in social results.

Add other social profile links and grow those networks
Almost all of the social circle results I’ve encountered come from a connection on Twitter (shown in above screenshot). Add links to your YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, and Flickr profiles for instant connections with your friends on those networks.

Email your associates and friends with GMail
When you email people using GMail, they are added to your contacts. If those individuals also use GMail they will appear in your Chat Contacts and are further added to your social circle.

Thank you for reading. Please connect with me on Google so that I might discover your content as well!

I’ve been working on expanding the TweetSocial community site lately and have just released what I think will be an invaluable resource for lots of Twitter users.

A fully featured Twitter Directory!

The goal of the TweetSocial Twitter Directory is to index all of the best Twitter web apps and tools, mashups, Twitter clients, resources and more all in one location.

Users can search and browse the many Twitter related categories, select individual favorites, rate, comment, review and share links to the best Twitter tools and resources.

It’s free to submit links to your favorite apps!

Simply register a username at TweetSocial.

I’ve personally submitted the best apps and Twitter tools that I’ve found. My latest project, FollowLists.com is included in the Twitter Apps category. It is a newer app that has a few features not yet live, check it out as well.

Stay tuned to the blog for occasional updates on the directory project, TweetSocial and FollowLists!

What do you think of the resources on the Twitter Directory so far?

Your feedback and submissions to the directory are greatly appreciated!

Soon I will be introducing a free Twitter tool that I feel will be received very well by the community.

It’s very likely that everything will be ready to launch on Friday, April 24th.

I can’t offer too many details… But, it will save some Twitter users lots of time while being quite fun and helping Twitter users to network and find new followers!

This fairly simple web based app can have a variety of uses and has room to evolve with more advanced features still on the drawing board.

The tool will reward Twitter users who share great content and it will help niche communities, individuals and even business to grow their network and expand!

What this new tool is NOT… This will not be a full blown twitter app like TweetDeck or Twhirl, nor is it any kind of viral follow scheme.

Please leave a comment below if you are interested in possibly beta testing or want a sneak peek at the new tool. I will contact you sometime between now and April 24th.

Also, I would appreciate any help to get the word out…

Sharing great links and answering questions on Twitter is a great way to get lots of new followers and some good street cred. Below are some tips to help you do just that.

TweetDeck is a wildly popular and free Adobe Air Twitter client that has loads of great features.

Filtering Your Friend’s Tweets

One of the best features of TweetDeck is the ability to filter tweets you see. Basically an on-the-fly search. This is especially helpful if you are following hundreds or thousands of people.

Filter is the first button at the bottom of each TweetDeck column.

Here are some ideas of ways you can use TweetDeck filtering.

http – Type this in to find only Tweets that contain a link to a website. This helps you find good content to ReTweet.

? – Type in a question mark in your filter box to quickly find questions people are asking, helping others is a great way to build relationships and get noticed, re-tweeted and probably mentioned in Follow Friday!

RT @ – Find tweets that have been re-tweeted, this is a sure fire way to find quality content to share as it’s already been deemed worthy enough for an initial ReTweet.

Twitter – Type in keywords like “twitter,” “design,” “domains” or whatever industry terms you like to find Tweets on your subject of interest to share.

Have any other TweetDeck tips? Please leave a comment and share!
