Isaac Asimov’s “Foundation” Series

Some overly friendly robotic voice just called me up to let me know that the book I had placed on special order (Foundation & Empire by Isaac Asimov) has just arrived!

If you are not familiar, Asimov is the guy who wrote “i Robot,” yes the same story involving Will Smith kicking robot ass.

I have been waiting for this second book in the “Foundation” series for awhile now. This guy’s writing just gets me captivated with oddly believable intergalactic space travel and the fall of empires and rise of a collective knowledge.

All in all, highly recommended if you are at all in to science fiction.

Must Have App For Saving Time With Repetitive Text

Texter is free a Windows based program that allows you to create shortcut keywords and keystrokes that will instantly output a stored blurb of text such as an email address or signature.

It is very handy for coding in text editors and basic HTML tags. Take a minute to read the LifeHacker page about Texter to learn about the two unique operators, %c and %| which can allow you to utilize your Windows clipboard and your mouse cursor.

The potential uses are virtually endless! I have had this installed for less than 24 hours and I have already created 13 shortcuts and used them several times! I don’t know how I got by without this program. Thanks to the developer Adam from LifeHacker.

I have submitted Texter to Mixx.com! Vote for it!
(And join Mixx if you haven’t yet!)
